When Julie lost her job, we started looking for something else she could do — something that would let her creativity and joy shine. So Julie did what Julie does best.
She grabbed a marker and started drawing.
When she thought about the extra chromosome that makes her who she is, the picture that came to mind was simple: two stick figures — Julie and her brother Derrick — playing catch.
Underneath it she wrote four words that perfectly describe Julie:
“I love my life.”
That little drawing became Julie’s very first shirt.
At first, we just sold them at events. But people loved Julie, loved the message, and loved the joy behind it. What started as a simple idea soon turned into something much bigger.
Julie’s obstacle — losing her job — became her opportunity to start something new.
Today that little drawing has grown into Julie’s Cool Shirts, but this design will always be special.
